Dog Walking: Our dogs at the Adoption Center who have not yet been placed in foster homes can be walked (or jogged or biked!) anytime once you’ve attended one of our volunteer orientations. We like for our dogs to spend as much time as possible socializing with people because it’s good for their development, so you’re also welcome to stick around to play with and snuggle any of the puppies we often have passing through our Adoption Center!
Adoption Events: We can always use help at our Saturday adoption events! We begin setting up at 11:30AM, events last from 12PM-4PM, and we are typically finished cleaning up by 4:30PM. You are welcome to stay for part or all of it! During our events, our volunteers walk dogs, clean up after them, and help us talk to potential adopters to find forever homes for our rescues. As we always have experienced volunteers at our events, anyone is welcome to come to the events to volunteer (no orientation required)! Well-behaved children welcome with adult supervision!
Transportation: We are always in need of volunteers with their own vehicles to transport dogs to and from vet appointments, as well as to assist in taking dogs from our area to other rescues. This is a great opportunity for those with non-traditional work or school schedules, stay-at-home moms, retirees, and so on, as these trips most often fall within standard business hours for vet offices and animal shelters. Often we know about appointments anywhere from two months to a couple of days in advance, but occasionally we don't know until the day transport is needed. Email us with your typical availability (no commitment required), and we will add you to our list of willing volunteers!
Fostering: Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help us! Our foster program is extremely flexible - even just taking one of our dogs home for the weekend for some exercise and family time can give us some much-needed information about how our rescues act in a home environment, so that we can provide the most accurate and complete information to potential adopters. See our fostering page for more information!
