Jacqueline Matter, anchor for FOX5 Mornings and Good Day DC, had a chance to cuddle up to Harvest, a rescue puppy from Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) on November 5. Chrissy Blake, ODHS founder, and Betsy Smith, volunteer, brought six rescue pups to the television station to talk about the Puppy Snuggles and Puppy Yoga event on November 8. The puppies featured on FOX5 included Harvest, Cucumber, Freyre, Billiken, Castiglia and Foode, who are available for adoption. Harvest is three months old and very sweet. She gets along great with other dogs and likes to play. A very smart pup, she’s already learning basic commands like “sit” and “come.”
ODHS is located at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg. Adoption events are Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., Fridays from 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 11-3 p.m. Applications in advance are preferred and take priority over walk-ins.
