Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) is taking orders for its “Egg My Yard” fundraiser until Friday, April 18. The fundraiser gives parents a chance to relax while the ODHS volunteers fill colored eggs with candy for the children or dog treats for those favorite four-legged friends. Volunteers will hop on over to each household to hide the eggs between 7-9 a.m. on Sunday, April 20.
“This is a great fundraiser to save parents the time of purchasing the eggs, filling them with candy and hiding them in the yard,” said Chrissy Hamilton, ODHS founder. “Whether you have kids or a furry friend in the family, we’ve got the perfect filling for the eggs. The fundraiser will greatly help the ODHS rescues, including vaccinations, medical care, if necessary, food, treats and the many items needed to keep the dogs healthy and happy.”
The price is $35 for 40 eggs and $20 for 20 eggs. Dog treat eggs are available by special request. (If not noted, the eggs will be filled with candy.) Sign up for the eggs by emailing events@olddominionhumanesociety.org until Friday, April 18. In the email, specify if the eggs should be filled with candy or dog treats, the physical address where the eggs are to be hidden and how many eggs are needed (20 or 40).
